Have you ever thought about the thought that goes into a product? No? Well, I will listen to a lecture and tell you the stages.
For the design stage, you would have someone to design how the outcome works, when I say someone I really mean a team. For example people have set roles in a group.
- User Experience
You would ask yourself what the product is and isn’t and why it is worth investing time into it. How it looks, and if it is practical.
From the event in Teentech, we had seen teenagers take on the task of thinking of an idea and why there is a need for it in the market. The challenger had given them a total of 35 minutes to think of an idea with all of the bulleted list above. They were in their own groups making them comfortable when it came to working in groups.
Firstly in the development stage you start with a prototype so you do not invest a mass in money. You would get feedback to better the prototype until you get to a great end result. This is a cost effective way to make sure you do not invest a lot of time and money developing something that would not work. It’s essentially a test to see if it is worth creating the product.
Do you fancy a task?
You would be better of working in a group based on the fact you can combine knowledge and implement a great idea collaborating your ideas together.
- Think of your idea
- Why is there a need in the market for it?
- Who does it benefit?
- How does it work?
- Is there anything else like it?
- How long would it take to get your idea out to the market?
These are the main questions to think about. If you have a great answer to those questions, well done you passed the challenge. If you feel that passionate about it, try and promote your ideas to bigger companies who would love to develop your idea for the mass markets.
